Hello everyone, this is SMReviews with another seemingly quick update on what’s been happening. Unfortunately some bad news after my last update. A few days before I was packed, set and ready to head off to my new life in Japan, the UK government advised against most travel and the Japanese government was beginning to turn away anyone coming in from Europe including the UK. So, I’m still here in the UK doing my best to stay home as I’m sure a lot of you are doing also. Luckily, this is only a delay to my new employment, and I will fingers-crossed be going to Japan sometime in Autumn, hopefully by then, the world will be a less uncertain place.
The good news is I am back to writing film reviews, but of course, all cinemas in the UK are closed and many new films have been pushed back to later in the year, so what to do? I have been thinking about what to replace my regular content with and I have decided to talk to you about the films that have inspired me the most and would most certainly be on my quarantine to-watch list. I’ll also talk about the films that for all I care can rot in hell for eternity. I likely do this on an alternating basis so a film I like then a film I hate and so on. This will begin next Saturday, starting with my favourite film of all time!
Some who have been with me for a long time may also remember a little series called “Filmin’ Round the World”, well I think that series has been gone for too long and I will try extra hard to push out these posts out as much as I can, beginning with where we left off.
These are worrying times, but I want all of you to know that if you need a distraction from the world for a while, you will always be welcome here, on this little website.
Please stay safe and stay home. We will get through this.
